A New Tattoo

No, it’s not my tattoo but one my best friend, Risa, had done yesterday. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when I opened her email and above the picture – all it said was ‘love you MY LU.’  Risa was my mentor and my friend when I came to CT and worked at PRC.  She never left my side and answered every one of the bazillion questions I asked her every single day.  I…

Andrew & Pictures

We all celebrate in the great news from Andrew’s last scan and blood test – all is well.  The scan is clear and the blood work is normal.  It’s always a hold your breath time waiting for those results, so we’re all very happy to hear that everything is okay and life is good.  Congratulations Andrew! We had our neighborhood get together on Saturday and had such a fun time.  It’s only for those that…

ANDREW

It is fabulous news and what we have all been waiting to hear….. Andrew is in remission.   He fought a long, hard battle and came out free of cancer.  I know we are all so happy for him, Traci, Nancy, Sofia and the rest of his family and friends.   Prayer is powerful and it has been proven again.  Thank you to all who have kept him close in your hearts and in your…

Update on Ed & Waiting for Andrew’s Results

Ed is back to having the fever and chills.  He had 101.4 this morning and after talking to the nurse at the doctor's office they called in a prescription for indocine.  It's an anti-inflammatory drug and also helps with the fever – he's to take it for a week and will stay in touch with the doctor.   I know all of us are anxious to hear about Andrew's scan and I will post in…

Andrew

Andrew will be going into the hospital tonight (Wednesday) to start his third round of chemo. We plan on visiting with him tomorrow and will have updates and, hopefully, a picture or two. In sending directions on where he is in the hospital, he wrote – Room 15, 2nd floor conklin building hartford hospital…look for the margarita stand out front! Gotta love him! He also wrote – So far so good, my Dr feels its…

Neighbor Phil Funeral

Our last visit with Phil was a difficult one to even think about, but having Tim and Kim with us was a great comfort. Phil had a large family and many who loved him, so when we approached the funeral home we should not have been surprised to see the line going out the door and into the parking lot. At the service, two of Phil’s granddaughters talked about their ‘pepere’s (grandpa’s) life and what…

Our Neighbor Phil

It is with a heavy heart I write that our sweet neighbor, Phil, died yesterday. He made it through the surgery for a triple bypass, but after about 20 minutes in ICU his blood pressure went up and his aorta burst. They were not able to save him. We will miss his friendly face and his funny ways. He was a great friend to Ed and always joked with him and made him laugh. It…

A Letter from Wendi’s Classmate

A few weeks ago, I received an email from a classmate of Wendi’s from the 9th grade. She said she just happened to find Wendi’s website and it brought back so many memories of her. I want to share what she wrote to me. Hello Linda, All those years ago Wendi’s kindness brought some joy to me at school. Middle school was a very rough time for me emotionally. I was among those who were…
