Uncomfortable
As you could imagine, it wasn’t a good day for Ed with that chest tube inside him. Since they put the tube in him this morning, he’s been fighting pain in his upper chest and back. Apparently, the chest tube was inserted in such a way that it was pressing up against some nerves causing more discomfort throughout the day.
Early afternoon, he was given some morphine to help knock down the pain and he had a real hard time finding a comfortable position to lay without him saying that he had shooting pains in his back.
Ed hasn’t been getting any decent rest at night, mainly because his roommate had a lot of Doctor traffic and his coughing kept Ed awake. The nurses on duty were able to move him into another room today so he could try to get a good nights rest. He is now in room 8911.
Chances are he won’t be discharged Tuesday and he’ll be in the hospital until they remove the chest tube and are sure there is no fluid or air around his lungs.
