Rhode Island Trip

Newport, RI was nice, but it was too cold and windy to do a lot of walking around. Ate lunch at the Brick Ally Pub which was packed to the walls with people. The food was excellent and the french fries were the best we’ve ever tasted (even minus the salt).

Sunday we went on a tour of the Breakers Mansion in Newport. It was built in 1892-1894 by the Vanderbilts. It has 70 rooms, with 22 of them bathrooms. It was decorated for Christmas, so that added to the beauty of the rooms. It’s amazing to see the luxury those folks lived in.

Ed did so good with all of the walking, but I now understand why he is so tired during the day….. he gets very little sleep at night.

We did enjoy the time away and would like to go back another time when it is a little warmer, and Ed is a little stronger.
