Welcome Home Ed

Ed came home about 2:00 today and is resting in his own chair, with his own remote…. he is happy. The drainage tubes were ‘yanked’ out (Ed’s words) and what is now resting on the top of his head are two incisions about 4″ long with thick staples holding his skin together. If that isn’t bad enough, there are two holes in the front of his head with black wires sticking out. He said he is ready for Halloween. We promise not to post any pictures of him!

It is amazing what they can do, but this sure was a scary ride. We will take a little rest from this and then talk with the doctors to figure out our next steps. For now we are grateful that he came through this surgery.

Tim and Kim have been there as my main support… I don’t know what I would do without them. We know we are surrounded by wonderful family and friends that keep us together. Ed’s brother, Bob, was here and spent a lot of time at the hospital keeping him company. Our neighbor, Phil, has watered my flowers. Neighbors, Janet and Bob, put Ed in a football pool to give him something to look forward to when he came home. Neighbors, Dick and Kathy, have offered any help we may need. Kim’s family have lit candles, said prayers, and sent food. Traci & Andrew sent food…. I could go on and on, but we hope that everyone knows how appreciative we are for everything.

Thank you all!
