Staples are Gone
Removing the staples wasn’t as bad as he thought it would be, but it still hurt a little. When the nurse walked out and came back saying she needed to get a bigger pair of pliers…. he almost caved in. It looks so much better, but I sort of miss the sun glistening off his head.
He asked about the weakness in his left side, and there was a slight nod of the doctor’s head and a ‘I don’t know what that’s from.’ He also mentioned the feelings of a headache, but it’s hard to tell if it’s truly a headache, or the pain from the surgery. The doctor ordered a CT scan that will be done on Friday and he will let him know if everything is ok.
Dr. Marakovits (cardiologist) called in the morning, and talked to Ed about possibly being able to go back on the Coumadin (blood thinner). He said he was talking to Dr. Martinez (heart surgeon) and they are in conference with other doctors to determine if this is possible. We really need to know everything about the reason behind this change. One day they tell him he can never be on blood thinner again and the valve needs replaced, and the next day they are telling him he can. This has been such an emotional roller coaster for him, and it isn’t fair.
