Doctor Visit
Looking at the x-ray today, it didn’t look any different from 2 weeks ago, but the doctor was able to see new bone growth. To the untrained eye, it looks like a few pencil dots. Looks like the bone stimulator is doing it’s job, even though he said he had doubts about it. Will continue to wear it every day, 10 hours a day for at least the next 6 weeks. The bones are still side by side with one coming up from the elbow with a point on top, and the other coming down from the shoulder with jagged edges on it. Hard to comprehend that it’s healing when the bone isn’t in one straight line, but the doctor assures me it’s ok.
Our concern was the pain in my shoulder and the inability to lift my arm. He said there is most likely some damage to that area, but he won’t even deal with that until the bone is healed.
My elbow is what I need to work on to try and get my arm to straighten out. He said that’s a difficult area to get mobility back.
Ed is doing great and feeling just fine. When I look at all he has been through, and how quickly he has healed – it makes me wonder where my healing powers are. Doctor says no work for another 6 weeks, and it made me feel good to hear Ed say that it’s nice having me home.
