Good News

After an exciting thrill ride to Hartford for Ed’s appointmen to see the surgeon, we were relieved to hear his assistant tell us the swelling is normal.  She said with the other health issues Ed has, it’s not unusual to see his leg swollen like that.  There was no sign of an infection and the high sedimentation rate, again, was something normal for an invasive surgery on someone like Ed.  Such comforting words to hear after the rehab center had us believing this was something serious.  It’s understandable that they need to protect themselves since Ed is in their care.  The assistant wants him to keep his leg elevated and use ice 4-5 times a day.

She said if he felt he was able to come home, there was no reason to stay because he could do all those things and he would get PT at home three times a week.  We will wait to see what rehab has to say since they will only discharge if they feel he is ready and strong enough to go home.  He’s ok with whatever they choose to do.

Thank you all for the prayers….
