Transfusion Day

After 2 attempts at finding a vein, the third time was sucessful and he was on his way. Thank goodness he was only getting one unit, so from start to finish it was a four hour process – not bad. Tim picked him up in the Jeep since it was easier for him to get in and out of and it saved us the expense of him traveling to the hospital in an ambulance. Tim also came later and took him back to the Pines (rehab). Don’t know what I’d do without him.
Once back at rehab, he passed the PT gym and they asked if he was coming down for his afternoon session and he told him he would skip it and said he would see them tomorrow. Little did he know, their plan was to come to the room, which they did and worked on him for a while. So many nursing homes get a bad rap, but this place is very clean, food is good and PT is excellent. Like all the others, they are very short staffed, but they do their best.
