Back In Action

Hello everyone,

It's been quite a while since I've been here typing updates and asking for prayers, which is a good thing!  Need to get my fingers nimble to keep everyone informed as to Ed's upcoming surgery.  He's been putting off getting his knees replaced, and who could blame him, but he's at the point where it needs done.

We met with the surgeon, Dr. Murray, the beginning of September and he's gone through all the preliminary clearances, attended a session for his physical and even went to a class this week.  We've purchased a telescopic shoe horn, a sock aid (for those who don't know, there is actually a contraption that will put on your socks) and a 'high toilet seat.  Luckily, we've been able to borrow a walker with wheels from one of the tenants here.  So, I think we're ready.  Now all we need is a giant bottle of oxycodone for Ed, and a giant bottle of wine for me.

The surgery will be on October 8th and only his left knee will be done.  Dr. Murray said the anesthesiologist wouldn't approve putting him under long enough to do both.

Needless to say, we'll need some extra prayers.
