New Room and Another New Room

Yesterday, Friday, he was moved to another room at the opposite end of the hall.  Before we were even in the room, they were getting his new roommate moved in.  Oh my, he was not a happy camper and let them know it.  He was mumbling and swearing while surrounded by 4 nurses and 1 supervisor.  They were trying to calm him but he kept on rambling….. a few words I caught were "not letting that stupid ass talk to me like that."  Don't know who he meant.

Finally we were moved in and sat there with our eyeballs bulging wondering what was next.  He did quiet down and after getting Ed settled and eating his dinner, I was on my way home – where peace, quiet and wine awaited!

An hour later Ed sent this text:  OMG, he just shit next to me.
Now this man is about 400 pounds with broken ankles and can't move himself.  They put him on the potty chair, in the room, and left.  Ed said the odor was horrible and took forever for someone to come in.

All was quiet after that, for a while, until the man's daughter came in ranting and raving,  Not sure what came of all that, but Ed said it was quiet once again.  He was ready to get some sleep.

Next morning sent text asking how he was and he said he wanted to come home.  He said he talked to supervisor and she asked why, and he said he just wanted to go home.  He told me the guy was up all night with his TV on.  They called me at home and said they didn't want him to leave, and they didn't know why he wanted to.  I told them you can't ask him why, when he's in the room with the guy causing the problems.  Told them I would be right in.  They jumped through hoops to get Ed to stay, but he wanted to come home.  We then learned, if he did sign himself out, he wouln't be eligible to get PT through home care.  Yikes…. we're trapped now.  Then they offered to move him, if he agreed to stay.

This is a long story but……. the end result….. King Edward is in a private room.
