Happy Holidays

Tim took the picture of us on Christmas Eve. We had a nice evening with Tim and Kim, and enjoyed being together. It’s fun watching them open gifts, and of course they spoil us.

Kim made the most elegant menu that was our invitation to dinner at their house. The paper she typed it on is so pretty that it looks like something from a NY restaurant. She gave us so many choices, that it will take a while to figure out what we want.

Tim put together a DVD for us of several different things over the years. One is our attempt at taking videos of Pittsburgh to send to him in CT. It is hysterical, and with Tim’s selection of sound effects, it’s even funnier.

Another is the annual gathering of Kim’s family for the 4th of July. It was difficult seeing the ones with Dave, and with each passing holiday we realize he actually is not with us anymore. Today we watched the entire DVD again. Dave was an amazing person and we miss him.

Sauerkraut, our dog, was also part of the DVD. It was so cute to see her as a puppy and watch her running around our yard in Pittsburgh. There is a tribute to her that starts with the song “I will remember you – will you remember me”

Christmas day was with Kim’s family. We probably all would have sat around talking if it wasn’t for Nicholas, Kim’s 7 year old nephew. He set up an entire trivial pursuit match between Mark (his uncle) and Tim. About a month ago we all received an invitation to the match along with tickets to reserve seats. He had a podium, with a microphone (his dad helped him build it)and all of the questions/answers typed out on paper. He even handed out programs when we were seated. It was a lot of fun, and since it was the 1st ‘annual match’ we will all be brushing up for next year’s match – Ed has an edge because he got a trivia book for Christmas!
