Ed in Pittsburgh

Brother Bob (Ed’s brother) was in the hospital Friday having hip replacement surgery. Ed flew to Pittsburgh to be with him, and has reported that Bob is doing ok. In a lot of pain, but that’s to be expected. He keeps pressing the morphine button. During the surgery, he was not given anesthesia due to the problems with his lungs and breathing, but he was given a spinal. Can’t imagine going through that kind of surgery and being awake.

His wife, Jan, was given the news last week that she has colon cancer. They will be operating on her the 12th of May. We are all praying that she will come through this ok, and not need radiation or chemo. We also hope that Bob will be up and around enough to be able to take care of her.
