The temps have slowly been creeping up a little each day and on Sunday night it hit 101.2.Monday he said he was feeling a little better and with Tylenol the temp stayed around 99. This morning it was back up to 101.8 and I called Dr. Zweig to see if there was anything more he could take besides the Tylenol. He gave him another prescription of Indocin that he had last time and it did…
Much to my surprise, last night at 7:30 Dr. Siegel called – not his secretary, not his nurse, but Dr. Siegel. He apologized for not being in touch sooner and explained he was on vacation. We knew, from Andrew, that he is a very caring and compassionate doctor and that certainly was evident with his call. He asked about Ed and how he was doing and then said his office would call today to get…
After 3 months of trying to figure out what has been going on with Ed and having no answers, we've decided to see an oncologist. After the appointment today with Dr. Zweig and having him agree it is a good idea, we will contact Dr. Siegel and set up a time to see him. This is Andrew's doctor and we feel we are making the right move in connecting with him. Dr. Zweig, and others…
Ed took the last of his new med yesterday and now we wait to see what happens. Of course, we feel the fever/chill episode will return but we don't know when. Talked to the nurse at Zweig's office yesterday and she said he is at the end of his rope and doesn't know what else he can do. I asked what the purpose of the anti-inflammatory pill was for and she said it is…
Since taking the newest medication- indocin – Ed has not had any high fevers or chills but still has no energy and says he just doesn’t feel right. I find him napping a few times a day and that is his biggest complaint. Wednesday will be the end of taking the medicine and we’ll call the doctor then to see what our next steps are.
It is fabulous news and what we have all been waiting to hear….. Andrew is in remission. He fought a long, hard battle and came out free of cancer. I know we are all so happy for him, Traci, Nancy, Sofia and the rest of his family and friends. Prayer is powerful and it has been proven again. Thank you to all who have kept him close in your hearts and in your…
Ed is back to having the fever and chills. He had 101.4 this morning and after talking to the nurse at the doctor's office they called in a prescription for indocine. It's an anti-inflammatory drug and also helps with the fever – he's to take it for a week and will stay in touch with the doctor. I know all of us are anxious to hear about Andrew's scan and I will post in…
Ed’s temperature is slowly creeping up again and we are waiting for the rest of the symptoms to appear. So far he is feeling okay except for being tired – no stomach or back pain, chills or night sweats. The doctor said to use Tylenol to control the fever and that’s what he’ll do until the doctor returns from his vacation. We’ll wait to see what tomorrow brings!
The results from the blood test that went to the Mayo Clinic are back and they are negative. Our doctor is on vacation next week so we won't be doing anything until he returns. We will check his temperature every day and if it does the same as before, the doctor said to treat it with Tylenol and he will continue to dig until he figures it out. Have no idea what his next…
For a month we’ve all believed that Ed had cancer and was facing months of treatments. To go from thinking that, to hearing the words ‘there is no cancer’ can only be described as a miracle. We have so many to thank for getting us to where we are today and it’s impossible to name each of you individually. We’ve felt the love from our family and friends here in CT and from hundreds of…
