My brother, Bruce, and sister-in-law, Jody, made a trip from Pittsburgh to visit with us this weekend. We had a great time and caught up on so many things. We enjoyed many laughs watching videos, talking about old times, and spending an evening with Kim’s mom and dad.
Ed had a great time in Pittsburgh and at the wedding. He came home with many stories and pictures, so it will take some time to get everything organized and in the journal. So much to report! Now… the most exciting part of Ed’s trip…
Ed is learning to play piano following the lessons provided on his Mac. He is having a great time and will now be able to create his own music to add to his movies. Thanks to Tim for loaning him the keyboard.
Had to buy candy since we would be home for Halloween, but not one trick or treater showed up. As you can see, he is resting comfortably and had a good night’s sleep. He is feeling better.
We decided to get away for the weekend and went to a Residence Inn in Manchester (walking distance to the mall) on Friday afternoon. All was ok until 10:00 pm when Ed was having back pain and trouble breathing. We went to the ER at Bristol Hospital where they thought he may have had a blood clot in his lung. Another Battle Scar Thursday he had a lesion removed from his face and, today, he is doing ok. As you can see from the picture it is quite a long incision. Last month when we met with the surgeon, he said he would need to make a small incision (I would hate to see the large one) to make sure he was able to remove the entire lesion. Our last visit with Phil was a difficult one to even think about, but having Tim and Kim with us was a great comfort. Phil had a large family and many who loved him, so when we approached the funeral home we should not have been surprised to see the line going out the door and into the parking lot. It is with a heavy heart I write that our sweet neighbor, Phil, died yesterday. He made it through the surgery for a triple bypass, but after about 20 minutes in ICU his blood pressure went up and his aorta burst. They were not able to save him.
