As the end of the year draws near, Ed and I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. We send our love to all and may the New Year be good to you. Thank you to everyone who are frequent readers of the journal, and a special thanks to those who add their comments. Christmas Day…
It’s been a week since I visited with my sister, Shirley, and I’m only getting to write about it and put the pictures here for everyone to enjoy. Just don’t know where the time goes. Even though I was there for only 3 days, we crammed a lot of activity into those days. It was so good to see her and enjoy our time together. She looks wonderful as you can see from the picture…
These are from the ‘Sisters Trip to CT’ in October. As always, we had a great time and are already looking forward to next year.
The much anticipated visit from the sisters has come and gone. Each year Ed’s sisters, Joan, Linda, Kris and Kathy (sorta sister) come to Connecticut for a few days. We make runs to the casinos, the bingo hall, restaurants, Christmas Tree Shop, and a wonderful evening of eating, drinking, poker playing and laughs at Tim and Kim’s. Kim made homemade pizza and Tim made his famous Snickertini’s. Mike and Rosanne joined us, and a special…
During our trip to Pittsburgh to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Joan & Rege we spent the day with my brother, Bruce, and his family. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing the kids and loved the great food Jody made. It was a lot of fun being in Pittsburgh and seeing all of our family, but it’s always so hard to leave. Our nephew Dave with his arm around girlfriend JamieOur niece…
After many weeks of pushing and pulling of furniture, the Steeler Room is complete, well almost. At Christmas, Ed received many Steeler items for his new room, and two of them are from Fathead.com. You will know them right away, because they are huge! They are removable in case there is a change to the quarterback.
We can now tell the story of what happened with Ed over the last week and a half. The journal wasn’t updated because we didn’t want one of the sisters to worry, so we waited to make sure he was ok. He was doing some furniture moving – or sliding – to get his Steeler room painted. He had no problems doing that, but when he tried to reach up to hang his Steeler curtain…
A few months ago, I received these pictures and facts about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from Traci’s mom, Nancy (Sofia’s Grandma) and wanted to share it.We visited Arlington many years ago and were there for the changing of the guard. To witness the ceremony is a moving experience. How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns and why? 21 steps. It alludes to the twenty-one…
Saturday night we celebrated the annual Valentine’s Day Dinner at Lynch Ledge. Kim and Tim make this an evening we all look forward to. The romantic couples were Mike & Rosanne (Kim’s Parents), Augie & Tootsie (Kim’s Aunt & Uncle), Larry & Laurie (Ali’s Parents) and the Lynch’s – Tim, Kim, Ed & Linda. The food, decorations, table settings, candles, music and conversations were the best. The pictures don’t even begin to capture how beautiful…
