Ed is learning to play piano following the lessons provided on his Mac. He is having a great time and will now be able to create his own music to add to his movies. Thanks to Tim for loaning him the keyboard.
Had to buy candy since we would be home for Halloween, but not one trick or treater showed up. As you can see, he is resting comfortably and had a good night’s sleep. He is feeling better.
We decided to get away for the weekend and went to a Residence Inn in Manchester (walking distance to the mall) on Friday afternoon. All was ok until 10:00 pm when Ed was having back pain and trouble breathing. We went to the ER at Bristol Hospital where they thought he may have had a blood clot in his lung. Another Battle Scar Thursday he had a lesion removed from his face and, today, he is doing ok. As you can see from the picture it is quite a long incision. Our last visit with Phil was a difficult one to even think about, but having Tim and Kim with us was a great comfort. Phil had a large family and many who loved him, so when we approached the funeral home we should not have been surprised to see the line going out the door and into the parking lot. It is with a heavy heart I write that our sweet neighbor, Phil, died yesterday. He made it through the surgery for a triple bypass, but after about 20 minutes in ICU his blood pressure went up and his aorta burst. They were not able to save him. We will miss his friendly face and his funny ways. He was a great friend to Ed and always joked with him and made him laugh. It…

They discharged him this morning and he was home by noon. Kim kept him company until I got there with his clothes. He is feeling ok and has been up and around and even sat outside while I watered the flowers. What a beautiful day it was today. Ed is in the hospital and doing ok after surgery to remove another blood clot from an artery in his leg. This one is behind his knee. He woke up in the middle of the night with aching and tingling in his leg and then noticed that his foot was cool to the touch. Same symptoms as last year when he had a blood clot in his groin.
