They discharged him this morning and he was home by noon. Kim kept him company until I got there with his clothes. He is feeling ok and has been up and around and even sat outside while I watered the flowers. What a beautiful day it was today. The staples will come out on Thursday and he should be back to ‘normal’ after that. The fever seems to be going away by itself, much like…
Ed is in the hospital and doing ok after surgery to remove another blood clot from an artery in his leg. This one is behind his knee. He woke up in the middle of the night with aching and tingling in his leg and then noticed that his foot was cool to the touch. Same symptoms as last year when he had a blood clot in his groin. Friday morning, I’m working from home, and…
On Saturday, June 6th, Ed and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary. We spent the weekend at the Boston Marriott on the Wharf and had a wonderful time. The pictures tell the story.
I’m writing in the journal from my new MacBook. My very own laptop from Tim and Kim for Mother’s Day. There are so many things to do in here that I feel like a kid on Christmas morning with a new toy. Now Ed can play his games, do his email and pay bills without me bugging him to get in the computer. We had such a nice day together on Saturday. After eating at…
We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with Tim and Kim. Waiting for them to arrive is always fun, too… we keep watching for their car to pull in the driveway. Ed made a fabulous roast and after eating, resting and laughing we were ready to open gifts. They got us the Wii game and after a few connections, we were ready to play. Thanks to Tim for setting it up before we even plugged it…
We had a wonderful visit with Joan, Linda, Kris and Kathy. They arrived in CT on Saturday and from the time they unpacked, we hit the road running – well, maybe walking! Saturday we spent the evening at the condo eating, drinking, talking, laughing and playing Wii. Sunday we made our yearly trip to the Christmas Tree Shop and found a lot of great bargains. That evening we went to Tim and Kim’s and visited…
On Saturday, we were at the Nationwide Nascar race. It’s unbelievable how up close and personal we were. Our nephew, Jim Schneider, works at Citifinancial and was able to get us passes since they sponsor the #16 car driven by Greg Biffle. Not only did we have passes to the race, but we stayed in the motorcoach, toured the garage area, and walked pit road where the cars and drivers were. It’s all so hard…
Just a minor issue with the incision on Sunday. A section of it opened and was bleeding but seemed to be ok after we bandaged it up. Tuesday he saw his primary care doctor who told him to see the surgeon. Kim took him today and the doctor drained it and will see him again on Monday. No sign of infection, so that is great news! Ed asked why he feels like someone beat him…
Ed took his first ‘big’ walk today to get the mail. He wanted to do it alone but I was prepared, with keys in hand, to go and rescue him. I waited by the window for what seemed an eternity and then I saw this lonely figure pop in between the trees. It took him a long time, but he did it. He is feeling good even with the cough that continues to come out…
Our angels never rest! On Monday, Ed was experiencing leg pain and numbness and thought it was the return of the sciatic nerve problem he had last year. He wanted to wait it out to see if it would ease but, as the hours passed, it seemed to get worse. He called the doctor and was set up for an appointment that day at 3:30. As soon as the doctor saw his leg and felt…
