Ed’s surgery was at 10:00 this morning, a little later than planned. It took about an hour, then an hour in recovery and another hour or so back in his little cubicle. He did great! He will be able to be up and around in a few days… he doesn’t need crutches, or physical therapy. They repaired the cartilage and don’t anticipate any problems. It is after 6:00 now and he is getting his first…
On Wednesday, August 10th, Ed will be having knee surgery. A little nipping and tucking and he will be good as new. I plan on keeping everyone updated with journal entries. The pain in his knee continued to get worse, so he finally gave in and went to see the doctor. He hobbled in with his x-rays and Dr. Organ (yes, that’s his name) looked at them, then looked at his knee and said “this…
Friday morning, around 3:30, Ed woke up feeling dizzy and nauseous. With his history, we thought it best to go to the emergency room. After blood tests, and a cat scan, they felt it was an inner ear problem and gave him antivert pills, and an injection of phenergan. After about 15 minutes, he started twitching and feeling very anxious. The nurse said it couldn’t be a reaction, but as it got worse, the doctor…
Last week we spent time with my sister Shirley, her husband Jim, my brother Bruce, and his wife Jody in Disney World. We had a wonderful time and even though we were a group of ‘seniors’ (except for Jody) we did a lot of walking, riding and shopping. Melinda is a gift from Tim and Kim while we were in Pittsburgh in May. She is adorable and, she had her own seat on the plane…
Last year we got together to celebrate Father’s Day at a local restaurant. This year we decided to do the same thing, and this time everyone was there. Tim, Kim, Mike, Rosanne, Pat, Ali, Augie, Helen, Rosemary, Greg, Mark and Nicholas. Before we started eating Tim got up to say that this was the second annual celebration of Father’s Day, but it really was a night to celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary of his parents….…
Ed called me at work while he was walking. When he told me where he was I couldn’t believe it, and then was shocked to hear him say he was walking to the mall. I thought for sure he was kidding… but he wasn’t. He wanted me to pick him up at the mall, and I thought it would be easy to find him since he would probably be the one on the floor. He…
Talked to Tim and Kim today from sunny California, and they are having a great time. They loved the zoo, and Tim was able to see the lazy hippos, and Kim saw her baby panda. They said the wedding was beautiful, and we are looking forward to seeing pictures. They went to 3 malls today, and ended up in Disneyland… how’s that for a full day? They also saw Lord of the Rings, so Ed…
The Valentine’s dinner at Lynch Ledge (Tim and Kim’s) was the best so far. Kim is sure getting the hang of entertaining and making wonderful meals. As usual, the house was decorated beautifully in celebration of sweetheart day with heart tablecloths, candles, flowers, and balloons. Tim decorated the walkway with candles and tiny heart balloons lining the path to the house. He also spray painted a big heart in the snow. The evening went by…
My loving, romantic, husband forgot he told me we would go out to dinner after work tonight for Valentine’s Day. Wore my dressy suit and knew something was up when he picked me up at work wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. I asked ‘so, where are we going?’ He said, ‘home – I made soup.’ Oh well, after hundreds of years of being married, it’s no big deal. After all, this is the same man…
We enjoyed our Christmas gift from Kim last week…. a dinner at Lynch Ledge. At Christmas we were given a menu that was fit for a king and queen. We had our choice of several soups & salads, side vegetables, main dishes, and desserts. Everything she made not only looked delectable, it was delicious. It’s always such a delight to spend an evening with Tim and Kim. Ed has been feeling really good and is…
