Ed and Linda talked to the surgeon about tomorrow. They will take Ed in for the operation at 6:45am. The procedure is expected to last 4 – 5 hours. He will start rehabilitation and could be discharged as early as Tuesday. Right now, Ed has to lay flat on his back for 5 hours.
Seems impossible that Ed will be facing open heart surgery for the second time in his life. Guess I really never thought he would go through with the operation when the possibility was presented to him. He always said he would never go through it again… the pain is something you definitely never forget. It all started with the blood clot in his eye and escalated into having the aorta valve replaced. We both knew…
So happy to know that everything is ok with our Kimberly. She had no doubt she would be ok, but I don’t think any of us had those same feelings. Guess we are just old folks that worry about everything, and think the worst. We can all relax now. As far as the news for Ed, it wasn’t as good. We were prepared to hear that his heart valve needs replaced, but we weren’t ready…
It’s so nice to have a place to come and write down all of my feelings. Even though I have a journal, I never pull out a pen and write in it – this is so much nicer. The weekend was beautiful, with almost perfect weather. Did baking on Friday night, and then some on Saturday for Ali’s bridal shower on Sunday. It was such a nice shower, and as usual Rosemary, Kim and Rosanne…
Did a lot this weekend, and it was perfect weather. Saturday morning was cold, but as soon as the sun came out, it was beautiful. Hit a few tag sales and found some bargains, then stopped at Tim and Kim’s to see the newly painted hall. It was a gorgeous red color that really ‘popped’ the room. Kim has this awesome ‘free spirit’ in decorating. She sees the blends and colors in her minds eye…
A beautiful day filled with sunshine and the smell of spring. Dave’s favorite time of year. Today, family and friends gathered for his Celebration of Life. It was a day of laughter, tears, and memories of a life much too short. My heart ached. No parent should ever have to experience the loss of their child – it is not right, it is not fair. Dave is in Heaven with his brother Paul… and I’m…
Spent the evening with Tim and Kim and had a wonderful time…. as we always do when we are with them. Their home is beautiful and there is a warm, welcome feeling whenever we are there. We munched on subs and chips and talked about a lot of things. Tim mixed up a few new drinks for us to try and the men retreated to the TV room and the women whipped out the material,…
Yesterday we had to put our little friend, Sauerkraut, to sleep. She was 12 1/2 years old and was a such a good dog. She came into our lives when she was only 3 months old…. this tiny little black pug that fit in the palm of your hand. We will miss her, but we know she has crossed over that Rainbow Bridge and will be waiting for us some day.
